# Design ad templates with Claude or ChatGPT

The designer gives an AI agent Kalpana's design tools. From a brief, it creates a page at the size the platform needs, builds the layer tree with layout flows, fonts from Kalpana's library and the workspace's own logos and photos, checks the layout and looks at a rendered preview, adds a page per size, and saves the template in your workspace. Every text and image layer is a named input that a batch row fills.

It does not render batches or export video. Fill the template in the Kalpana app, or through the batch MCP at https://mcp.kalpana.one/mcp/batch; the template's id is the same on both.

## Pricing
- Needs an active Kalpana plan. Free trial and top-up credits alone do not open it.
- One render credit pays for 20 designer calls. design_guide, list_workspaces, search_templates, send_feedback, list_shaders, calculate, measure_text, color_math, stagger_times are free.
- Previews the agent sees are up to 800 px with a faint "Kalpana preview" mark that is never in the template or its exports.

## FAQ

**What is the Kalpana designer MCP?**
A hosted MCP server at https://mcp.kalpana.one/mcp/designer that gives an AI agent Kalpana's design tools. The agent creates and edits templates in your workspace, with layers, layout flows, fonts, images, pages per size and motion, checks them with a layout check and rendered previews, and saves them like any other template.

**How is it different from the batch MCP?**
The designer makes and changes templates. The batch server fills them with your product rows and renders the images and videos. Template ids are the same on both, so an agent connected to both can design a template and run a batch with it.

**What does it cost?**
It needs an active Kalpana plan; free trial and top-up credits alone do not open it. Designer calls use the workspace's render credits: one credit pays for 20 calls. The design guide, the calculator, the text and colour helpers and the template search are free.

**Who in my team can use it?**
Anyone whose workspace role can create and edit templates: Owners, Managers and Designers. The agent works as you, in the one workspace you chose when you connected.

**Can I edit what the agent made?**
Yes. It is a normal Kalpana template, so open it in the template editor and change anything. The agent picks up your changes on its next call, and undo steps back its own changes.

**Which fonts and images can it use?**
Fonts from Kalpana's font library, and images from your workspace's asset library, from your uploads or from public https links. A linked image is copied into your assets first, within the domains your workspace allows, so batches never fetch it from outside.

**Does it make videos?**
It animates designs and checks the motion as frames. Videos render in the Kalpana app or through the batch MCP. An animated template can also fill image batches, showing the moment you choose.
